Katie’s Pantano Wash Artistic Portrait Session
Katie, an Arizona nurse, stepped into the rain-filled Pantano Wash for an artistic Tucson portrait session built around black and white, mud, water, and heavy contrast.
About the shoot
Photographs built around the people in them
After monsoon rain brought water back into the Pantano Wash, Katie wanted to use the changed landscape for something less polished and more expressive than a conventional portrait session. The limited palette, wet ground, dark fabric, pale highlights, and reflective water created a stark visual language centered on shape, texture, and movement.
