Kelly’s Kintsugi-Inspired Doll Face Portrait Session
Tucson model Kelly became a fractured porcelain figure for an artistic portrait session inspired by kintsugi, using pale makeup, dark cracks, and visible gold seams.
About the shoot
Photographs built around the people in them
Kintsugi is the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and powdered gold, treating damage as part of an object’s history rather than something to hide. This conceptual session translates that idea into portraiture through porcelain-like makeup, fractured lines, gold accents, mirrors, brushes, and carefully controlled expressions.
