The 3100 belongs to Chevrolet’s Task Force generation, introduced for 1955 as the company’s first full pickup redesign since 1947. The series brought a wraparound windshield, a more modern cab, and the beginning of Chevrolet small-block V8 availability in its light trucks. By 1957, the 3100 combined those postwar styling changes with the practical half-ton pickup format, while the larger rear window gave the cab the open visibility that makes Big Window examples especially recognizable.
