Photographs built around the people in them

Introduced in 1946, the Mark VI was Bentley’s first postwar luxury car and the first model the company offered as a complete factory-assembled automobile with a standardized Pressed Steel saloon body, though coachbuilt examples were also available. Built at Crewe and produced until the R Type arrived in 1952, the Mark VI helped establish Bentley’s postwar identity by combining formal British luxury with a car designed to be driven rather than merely displayed.
