On may 26th, Courtney Pugh, a pilot, a business owner, an entrepreneur, and a friend to many was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She is currently in their custody and, awaiting a bond hearing. It is very likely that she will win her case and have every chance of being able to stay in this country. However, if the bond amount she is issued is not paid very quickly, then there is a good chance that she will remain in the custody of ICE until this is resolved, which is not expected to be a speedy process.
Her continued incarceration is bad for her case, bad for her business, and bad for her well being. Money raised will be put entirely towards paying the bond amount required to obtain Courtney's freedom. Anything that is raised in excess of what is required to pay Courtney's bond, will be used towards legal services and other expenses required to complete her immigration process.
When her case is resolved and the bond for Courtney is released, then the full value of that amount will be donated to the Cambridge Legal Defense Fund, which helps Immigrants obtain a path to citizenship, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
